Din Union stands for Deutsches Institut Fur Normung (German Institute of Standardization).
DIN Union Gaskets are designed specifically for DIN fittings. DIN Union Gaskets are mostly found on pumps machinery and other processing equipment compliant with the DIN 11851 standard. All other Unions have a weld liner. However, the DIN union has a conical weld liner, which sits slightly inside the male part on the top of the seal, ensuring the union aligns correctly when being tightened.
